The original Wendy’s was launched in 1969, and salads weren’t found in the restaurant.
Only five menu items were available at the first Wendy’s restaurant, including hamburgers, French Fries, Soft drinks, Frosty chili, and chili…
Ten years later, Dave Thomas’ restaurant added an option for salads for customers to “diversify the options for those who wanted to go green with its meals,” according to Wendy’s.
Then, in 1992 after years of increasing recognition, Wendy’s launched salads on the menu as a grab-and-go product.
The first salads to go were Grilled Chicken, Taco Caesar, Deluxe Garden, and salads for sides. Wendy’s was then able to eliminate its famous salad bar in 2006.
You may have noticed that these salads are no longer available at Wendy’s. This is because, in 2010, Wendy changed its salad menu for entrees, including Apple Pecan Chicken, BLT Cobb, Spicy Chicken Caesar, and Baja.
Today’s menu is similar to the one from 2010, but there’s only one difference: the Apple Pecan Salad is still available.
